Wed 05 Jun 24 - Wooramel Station to Carnarvon (121km)
12 Deg at Wooramel to 29 Deg C at Carnarvon, clear with a gentle NE wind mid afternoon.
Very little to report today. After a bit of a sleep-in and morning walk, we drove away at 09:20am. Our stay at Wooramel Station Retreat was short but very pleasant. The road to Carnarvon was mostly flat and uninteresting, with a lot of water on the roadside. There were also a lot of goats grazing by the roadside, some worryingly close, but thankfully none wondered into our path. At 11:00am, we arrived in Carnarvon and checked into the Outback Oasis caravan park about 4.5km out of town. After we set up, we drove into the town centre for lunch at a bakery/cafe, then called into the Visitor Information Centre to arm ourselves with information for the Carnarvon and Coral Bay areas. Noel then set off to do the grocery shopping at Woolworths, while I left her alone and went to Repco to buy spare fuses for the car, and had a short stroll along the esplanade. Back at the van, we had a quiet afternoon, until the corellas arrived and made a nuisance of themselves. Tomorrow we will head out to explore the sites of Carnarvon, which shouldn't take too long.
