Day 51: Wed 08 May 24 - Rockingham - @KJ's

Wed 08 May 24 - Rockingham - @KJ's

16 to 28 Deg C, clear and sunny with a gentle E to NE Wind all day - another beautiful day. Not much to report apart from bookending the day with enjoyable morning and evening walks along stunning Warnbro Beach. In between, Noeleene caught up on washing and some other domestic duties while I sorted out some personal admin and reorganised files on my computer. Feeling a bit drained, it was a much needed slower paced day. At lunchtime, I called Ford for an update, and the diagnosis they provided is that the issues are not alternator related, rather seized bearings in one or more belt pulleys - no belts are turning. I was advised that they have parts available in Perth but unlikely to have the car repaired before the weekend. Assuming they don't find any other issues or damage, it might be fixed by Tuesday. Armed with a likely repair timeframe of early to mid next week, I arranged a hire car through NRMA to allow us, to some extent, continue with some of our travel plans around Perth and Fremantle. Unfortunately, we have an early start in the morning, because NRMA arranged the hire car to be collected from Perth at 0900am, and an Uber driver to pick us up at 0800am to get us there in time. At least we'll some some wheels to get around in over the next 6 days, if that's how long it takes to repair the car.
